Piyush Rai

Piyush Rai is a Professor of Mining Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, with a career that spans over three decades in academia and industry. Since May 2010, Piyush Rai has been contributing to the field as a faculty member at IIT (BHU) after serving as an Associate Professor in Mining Engineering at Banaras Hindu University from May 2007 to May 2010. Prior experience includes a role as Development Engineer at Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. (BEML) and as Assistant Mining Engineer at Tata Iron & Steel Company Ltd. (TISCO), focusing on design, development, and production management in mining operations. Piyush Rai holds an M.Tech. and a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from IIT (BHU) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering from Jai Narain Vyas University.
