Art S. Kagel

Art S. Kagel is the Director at IIUG. Art was previously with Cisco Systems as a Consulting Expert from January 2008 to July 2011. There, they recommended database configuration and schema changes to optimize application performance. Art also performed benchmark testing of new hardware/software configurations for Cisco's embeded products.

From May 1993 to November 2007, Kagel held various positions at Bloomberg, including Manager of Database Systems. In this role, they managed over 45 RDBMS systems and DBA staff. Art also mentored and trained developers in the proper use of database systems.

Kagel has also served on the Board of Directors for the International Informix Users Group and as Chief Technology Officer for Oninit, LLC from November 2007 to January 2010. Most recently, they were a Senior Analyst at Neuberger Berman from January 1990 to December 1993.

Art S. Kagel has a background in mathematics from Polytechnic University, a BA in business and marketing from Saint John's University, and an information systems degree from New York University. Art also holds various IBM certifications in analytics and informix administration, as well as a Sybase administration certification.
