Nerymar Ortiz-Otero

Nerymar Ortiz-Otero is a seasoned professional in biomedical engineering and oncology with extensive experience in clinical biomarker development and translational research. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Clinical Biomarker at Moderna since 2024, Nerymar previously held the role of Translational Scientist II at Ikena Oncology from 2021 to 2024, where significant contributions were made to oncology programs and oversight of clinical study progression. Nerymar's academic background includes a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University, complemented by postdoctoral research at Vanderbilt University focusing on circulating tumor cells and cancer-associated fibroblasts in head and neck cancer. Earlier roles include a neuro-oncology internship at Weill Cornell Medical College and a research assistantship at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, where groundbreaking work in metagenomics was conducted.
