Sabine Mertens

Sabine Mertens is a highly experienced Senior Program and Project Manager currently leading major projects and supporting continuous improvement initiatives at De Lijn since November 2022. With a robust background in project management, Sabine has held significant roles at IKOS GROUP as a Senior Consultant and Project Manager since May 2015, and at SIEMENS Mobility, Alstom, Thalys, Lineas, and Infrabel, where various projects, including ETCS implementations and operational optimizations in the railway sector, were successfully managed. Additionally, Sabine's expertise includes overseeing strategic development projects at Brussels Airport and extensive experience in project management roles at Thales Communications, contributing to NATO programs and international communications systems integrations. Sabine holds an MBA from Vlerick Business School and a Master's in Engineering with a focus on Electricity Electronics.
