Franck Le Vaillant

Senior Scientist - Deputy Lab Head at Iktos

Franck Le Vaillant has extensive work experience in the field of organic chemistry and catalysis. Franck is currently working at Iktos as a Senior Scientist and Deputy Lab Head. Prior to this, they worked at SEQENS/CNRS as a Scientist responsible for the LabCom HitCat, a joint lab between Seqens and CNRS, where they focused on multicatalysis with modern technologies to solve challenges in API synthesis.

Before joining SEQENS/CNRS, Franck was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Max-Planck Institute für Kohlenforschung, where they worked on catalysis and organometallic chemistry for sustainable transformations. Franck also completed their PhD in Organic Chemistry at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and was a Visiting Student Researcher at Stanford University, where they worked on methodology projects in organometallic chemistry.

Franck's earlier experiences include working as an Organic Chemist intern at Solvay, where they developed catalytic processes for electrophilic aromatic substitutions. Franck also had an internship at University College London under the supervision of Prof. Motherwell, where they worked on magnetic navigation. Additionally, they worked as a Technical Chemist at ICG MACS, focusing on the functionalization of polysaccharide beads for eco-friendly catalysts and transition metal chelation.

Franck Le Vaillant attended Lycée Georges Clémenceau, where they pursued a degree in Chimie, Physique, Mathématiques from 2009 to 2010. Franck then went on to Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry from 2010 to 2013. Franck continued their education at the same institution and completed their Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from 2011 to 2013. Finally, Franck pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2014 to 2018.
