Jean-Baptiste Chéron

Research Software Engineer at Iktos

Jean-Baptiste Chéron began their work experience in 2011 with an internship in structural biology at UFIP (ex U3B). Jean-Baptiste then went on to complete another structural biology internship at Université Paris Diderot in 2013 and at the University of Bergen, CBU, Reuter Group in 2014. In 2014, they also started working as a PhD student at Université Nice Sophia Antipolis, where they conducted molecular modeling studies of transmembrane receptors involved in chemical senses. During this time, they utilized programming languages such as R, Python, and Bash, as well as methods like molecular dynamics and machine learning.

In 2017, Jean-Baptiste worked as an R&D Software Engineer in the Implementation Team at Air France, first at KAPA IT and then at Sopra Steria until 2022. Jean-Baptiste used technologies such as Bash, Python, and Scheduler (TWS) for this role.

Starting in 2022, they worked as a Devops at GROUPE RHINOS, where they gained experience with various tools including Git, Docker, VMware, CircleCI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, and more.

In 2023, Jean-Baptiste joined Iktos as a Research Software Engineer.

Overall, Jean-Baptiste Chéron has a diverse work experience with a focus on structural biology research, molecular modeling, and development in various technology stacks, particularly in the areas of Devops and research software engineering.

Jean-Baptiste Chéron's education history begins in 2007 when they attended UFR médecine Nantes and completed the PCEM1 program. Jean-Baptiste then went on to study at Nantes Université from 2009 to 2012, earning a Licence degree in Biologie Biochimie. In 2012, they enrolled at Université Paris Cité and completed a Master's degree in Biologie-Informatique in 2013. Continuing their studies at the same university, they obtained another Master's degree in In Silico Drug Design in 2014. Lastly, from 2014 to 2017, Jean-Baptiste Chéron pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioinformatique at Université Côte d'Azur.
