Christian Hopmann has a diverse work experience in the plastics processing industry. Christian began their career in 2001 as Chief Engineer at the IKV Institute for Plastics Processing. In 2005, they joined RKW SE as a QA Manager. In 2006, they transitioned to RKW Sweden ab and served as Manager Production until 2010, when they became the Managing Director. In 2011, they joined the IKV- Institute for Plastics Processing in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University as the Head of the institute.

Christian Hopmann completed their education history as follows:

From 1996 to 2000, Christian attended RWTH Aachen University and obtained a degree of Dr.-Ing. in Plastics Processing.

From 1989 to 1995, they also attended RWTH Aachen University, where they earned a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In 1979, Christian completed their secondary education at Goethegymnasium, obtaining an Abitur degree.

In 2008, they briefly enrolled at IMD, specializing in PED, although the degree attained is unknown.

In addition to their education, Christian Hopmann has undergone additional certifications. In 2023, they received the SPE Polymer Composites Journal Editors Choice certification from SPE: Inspiring Plastics Professionals. Furthermore, in the same year, they also received the SPE ANTEC® 2023 Presenter certification, also from SPE: Inspiring Plastics Professionals.
