Jonas Franke is a Research Assistant at the Institut für Kunststoffverarbeitung (IKV) in Industrie und Handwerk an der RWTH Aachen since June 2021, specializing in plasma and surface technology, permeation, and simulation. Previously, Jonas completed a Master's thesis at Miltenyi Biotec, focusing on the modification of silicone surfaces to enhance their suitability as cell culture substrates, achieving a top grade of 1.0. Jonas has also held positions at Miltenyi Biotec as a working student in R&D Engineering, where involvement included the plastics group, and completed a Bachelor's thesis on developing a bonding process for silicone/thermoplastic composites in injection molding with surface activation, also earning a 1.0 grade. Earlier experiences include internships at Miltenyi Biotec and DEUTZ AG, as well as serving as a student assistant at IKV, focusing on infrared and ultrasonic welding techniques. Jonas holds a Master of Science in Kunststoff- und Textiltechnik and a Bachelor of Science in Maschinenbau, both from RWTH Aachen University.
