Nadzeya Husakouskaya is a seasoned expert in gender and LGBTIQ+ rights with extensive experience in research, education, and program management. Currently serving as a Senior Programmes Officer at ILGA-Europe, Nadzeya focuses on strengthening the LGBTI movement by developing capacity enhancement activities and addressing pressing issues such as anti-LGBTI sentiments and homelessness. Previous roles include serving as a Regional Researcher at Amnesty International, where Nadzeya led a significant project on domestic and sexual violence in conflict-affected areas of Ukraine, and as a Research Fellow at the University of Bergen, exploring LGBT and transgender politics in Ukraine. Nadzeya's academic contributions include lecturing on gender theory and feminism across various institutions and authoring gender-focused projects aimed at enhancing gender equality in Belarus. Nadzeya holds a PhD in Gender Studies from the University of Bergen and multiple degrees in cultural studies and migration.
