Omkar Gandhi

Omkar Gandhi is a talented engineer currently serving as a Drivetrain & Aerodynamics Engineer at Illini Electric Motorsports since August 2023, where significant contributions include designing a pretension nut for bearing efficiency and selecting optimal rotary seals. As an undergraduate researcher at the Energy Transport Research Lab at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Omkar is exploring etching protocols for heat exchangers and devising wind tunnel experiments to assess evaporator performance. Additionally, Omkar holds the position of Director of Professional Development with the Ascend UIUC Chapter and has experience as an engineer with Illini Formula Electric, focusing on aerodynamics and composite materials manufacturing. Previous experience includes an internship at Entrib Analytics Technology Private Limited. Omkar is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, expected to graduate in May 2026.
