Lyndsey Girod Ramsey has a diverse work experience across various organizations and roles. Lyndsey Girod started their career as a GIS Specialist at Epsilon Associates, Inc., where they created and edited locus and environmental maps for regulatory permits. Lyndsey Girod also worked as a Conservation GIS Volunteer at Land Legacy, organizing and maintaining GIS data for conservation easement projects.
Ramsey then served as a Graduate Research & Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they focused on natural resource management and conservation efforts. Lyndsey Girod later joined the Muscogee (Creek) Nation as a GIS Analyst, responsible for gathering geographic data, designing geodatabases, and conducting spatial analysis.
Lyndsey Girod volunteered for the Oklahoma Conservation Commission Blue Thumb, where they monitored water quality and assisted with invertebrate sampling. Ramsey also participated in Leadership Jenks as an emerging community leader, collaborating with city staff and residents to develop business growth and management plans.
Ramsey's experience includes working as a Land Conservation Specialist at the National Great Rivers Research & Education Center, assisting with the Illinois Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) and conducting outreach to farmers. Lyndsey Girod also served as the Associate Director of Natural & Environmental Resources at the Illinois Farm Bureau, acting as a liaison between farmer members and state/federal agencies.
Currently, Ramsey is employed at the Illinois Farm Bureau as the Director of Strategic Operations. In this role, they provide vision and leadership, aligns strategies, and designs advocacy and education campaigns. Lyndsey Girod also serves as the Director of Strategic Engagement at the same organization, overseeing high-priority issues and engaging relevant staff.
Outside of their professional career, Ramsey has volunteered for the Alumni Association at the UIUC College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (ACES) as a Vocational Director. Lyndsey Girod has also volunteered for the Massachusetts Audubon Society in the past.
Lyndsey Girod Ramsey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Dartmouth College, which they obtained from 2004 to 2008. Subsequently, they pursued further education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from 2011 to 2013.
