Kimberly Janas serves as Counsel to the Attorney General at the Illinois Attorney General's Office since January 2019, and previously held the position of Chief of Staff. With extensive legal experience, Kimberly worked as General Counsel and Vice President at the Illinois State Medical Society from February 2014 to October 2018, and also served as Assistant Legislative Counsel and Assistant Vice President for State Legislative Affairs. Prior roles include Secretary of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission and Associate Counsel for the Illinois State Senate Democratic Caucus. Kimberly began their career as an Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois Attorney General's Office and as a Staff Attorney at the Legislative Reference Bureau. Kimberly holds a J.D. cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law and a B.A. magna cum laude in English and Women's Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
