Illinois Collaboration on Youth
Pearl McRae is a dedicated professional with diverse experience in education and youth advocacy. Currently serving as a Trauma Specialist at the Illinois Collaboration on Youth since July 2024, Pearl previously held various teaching roles at Sacred Heart Schools, including Elementary Art Teacher, Full Time Substitute Teacher, and Interim Fine Arts Teacher, where responsibilities included implementing creative art curricula and providing classroom management. Prior roles included Youth Advocate at VOYCE - Whakarongo Mai, supporting vulnerable children, and Youth Worker at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, utilizing trauma-informed practices. Pearl holds a Master of Arts in Developmental Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Western Washington University and Seattle Central College, respectively.

Illinois Collaboration on Youth (ICOY) is a supportive partner to the systems & organizations that serve Illinois' children, youth & families. We act as a collective voice for Illinois’ child welfare, youth service, and juvenile justice providers to ensure they have the resources needed to help young people from all backgrounds succeed.
