Bruce Watts

Bruce Watts is the Vice President of Administration at Illinois Institute of Technology. Bruce has over 25 years of experience in construction management, serving a diverse portfolio of clients within the higher education and Federal research sectors.

Bruce Watts began their career in construction management with Lendlease in 2000, where they served as Vice President for six years. In 2006, they joined The Rise Group as Senior Vice President, providing project management and sustainability services for clients in the corporate, commercial, and higher education sectors. Some of the key projects Bruce oversaw during their time with The Rise Group include the 600,000 sf corporate office for a major international law firm and the new corporate headquarters for AMCOL Incorporated.

In 2008, Bruce Watts joined Barton Malow as Vice President, overseeing the Chicago office and managing a diverse portfolio of clients within higher education and Federal research sectors. During their four years with Barton Malow, Bruce led key projects such as the new Mansueto Library at University of Chicago, 4 science facility projects at Fermi Lab and Argonne National Lab, the renovation of the Natural Bruce'story Building at University of Illinois, and the renovation of the business school at University of Illinois Chicago.

Bruce Watts has been with Illinois Institute of Technology since 2012, where they currently serve as Vice President of Administration.

Bruce Watts has a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering/Construction Management from Purdue University, and an Executive Leadership Program from Columbia Business School. Bruce also has certification from OSHA Safety Training Institute in OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification, State of Minnesota in Professional Engineer, U.S. Green Building Council in LEED Accredited Professional, and U.S. Department of Defense in Level 3 Acquisition Certification (highest).
