Dayton Hammes currently serves as the Director of Social Media, NIL & Student-Athlete Branding at Illinois State Athletics, overseeing social media strategy for various accounts within the department. Prior roles include Assistant Director of Athletics Communications, focusing on communications and social media management for Redbird volleyball and swimming & diving, as well as serving as a graduate assistant in athletics communications responsible for cross country and track & field. Previous experience includes communications roles at Kansas Athletics, Inc., the Big 12 Conference, and various internships in media relations with Sporting Kansas City and Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Club. Dayton holds a Master's degree in Sport Management from Illinois State University and a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication and Sport Management from the University of Kansas.
