Sonni Williams

Sonni Williams has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Sonni currently holds the position of President Elect at the Illinois State Bar Association. Prior to this, they worked as the City Attorney for the City of Lockport, where they provided legal counsel and represented the city in various cases. Sonni also served as the 3rd Vice President and a Board of Governor member at the Illinois State Bar Association, where they were involved in managing the association's business. Additionally, Sonni has worked as the Deputy Corporation Counsel and Interim Corporation Counsel for the City of Peoria, Illinois, handling civil rights cases, providing legal advice, and supervising a legal department. Sonni was also a Commissioner for the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism. Sonni Williams completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Iowa between 1988 and 1994. Sonni then pursued further education and obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from Northern Illinois University, studying from 1995 to 1999.
