Derreck Langwith has extensive experience in the field of education. Derreck worked as the Director of Regional Offices of Education at the Illinois State Board of Education, where they oversaw the administration of $160 million in federal COVID-19 funds and managed a 5-year visit cycle for over 700 schools. Prior to that, they were a Principal Consultant at the same organization. Additionally, Derreck worked as an Implementation Consultant and Masters Candidate at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Derreck also served as a Special Education Teacher at The Menta Group and a Substitute Teacher at SPARTA COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #140. Derreck Langwith has a Master of Education - MEd degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, which they obtained from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale from 2006 to 2011. In 2008 and 2009, they participated in a Study Abroad Program at Nagoya University, focusing on Education.
