State Personnel Development Grant Project Director (sped) at Illinois State Board of Education

Sherry Bochenek, Ed.D., has a diverse work experience in the education field. Sherry is currently serving as the State Personnel Development Grant Project Director (SpEd) at the Illinois State Board of Education since 2023. In addition to this role, they also worked as a Principal Consultant at the same organization from 2020 to 2023. Sherry has been an Adjunct Instructor at Northern Illinois University since 2021.

Before joining the Illinois State Board of Education, Sherry worked at Giant Steps, where they held various positions. Sherry served as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from 2016 to 2020. Sherry later pursued a Master of Arts degree in LBS1 - Education/Teaching of Individuals with Specific Learning Disabilities at Roosevelt University, completing their studies from 2007 to 2008. Sherry then went on to earn a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University, where they completed their studies from 2014 to 2022. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Instructional Design Essentials: Models of ID, Teamwork Foundations, Building Trust, and Decision-Making Strategies from LinkedIn.
