Aondover Tarhule

Aondover Tarhule currently serves as the 21st President of Illinois State University, a position held since July 2020, where Illinois State offers over 160 undergraduate and graduate degrees and is recognized as a Carnegie Classified High Research Activity doctoral university. Prior to this role, Aondover Tarhule held various academic leadership positions at Binghamton University from August 2017 to June 2020, including Interim President, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Vice Provost & Dean of the Graduate School, overseeing significant responsibilities related to graduate education and budget management. Aondover Tarhule's earlier experience includes serving as Executive Associate Dean at the University of Oklahoma, where initiatives to enhance diversity and faculty recruitment were implemented, along with chairing the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability. Aondover Tarhule's academic qualifications include multiple degrees in Geography, culminating in a Ph.D. from McMaster University, alongside prestigious post-doctoral fellowships.
