Rachel Wells serves as an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Special Education department at Illinois State University, teaching undergraduate students in the Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing program. In addition, Rachel works as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Thomas Metcalf Laboratory School, providing evaluation and therapy services for students while supervising graduate student practicum work. Previous experience includes providing pediatric evaluations and therapy services at Marcfirst and Easter Seals in the Bloomington-Normal area, as well as offering rehabilitative therapy for residents with swallowing and cognitive impairments at ONR. Rachel holds a Doctor of Education degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and is pursuing a Director of Special Education Certificate. Additional qualifications include a graduate certificate as an Auditory/Oral Specialist and a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. Prior to formal teaching, Rachel also taught private piano lessons.
