Jaazaniah Catterall is currently serving as a Research Attorney at the Illinois Supreme Court since October 2023. Previously, Catterall worked as an R3 Community Lawyer at Land of Lincoln Legal Aid from May 2022 to September 2023. During academic studies at the University of North Carolina School of Law from 2019 to 2022, Catterall held multiple roles, including Pro Bono Program Coordinator positions, Research Assistant for Professor William Marshall, and legal internships with Legal Aid of North Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Catterall also has experience as an outfitter at Fleet Feet Sports - Carrboro and as a finance intern for Roy Cooper's re-election campaign. Catterall holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University.

General administrative and supervisory authority over the court system is vested in the Supreme Court.
