Andrew Cochrane

Andrew Cochrane is an experienced agricultural professional currently serving as the Group Head of Grower Agriculture and Project Manager for EU Projects at Illovo Sugar Africa since February 2015. Cochrane has successfully managed two EU-funded projects focused on developing flood protection infrastructure for sugar protocol countries. Prior to Illovo, Cochrane held the position of Regional General Manager at Lima Rural Development Foundation from January 2010 to January 2015, and served as Managing Director at Figtree Group Ltd Tanzania from August 2006 to December 2010. Cochrane's earlier experience includes consulting as a Managing Consultant at Andrew Cochrane & Associates and working as an Agricultural Specialist at the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform. Academically, Cochrane holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Development Economics and Business Management from the University of South Africa and a Diploma in Agriculture from Cedara College of Agriculture.
