Arvind Kumar

Arvind Kumar is a seasoned data scientist specializing in deep learning and machine learning applications. Currently serving as a Sr. Deep Learning Engineer at Illumina since July 2022, Arvind focuses on developing data-driven tools for non-coding variant interpretation and previously contributed to modeling and interpretation tools for single-cell chromatin accessibility in cancer. Prior experience includes a role as a Deep Learning Software Engineer at NVIDIA, where Arvind developed a Kubernetes-based API system and AutoML algorithms for the TAO toolkit, and a Research Assistant position at Stanford University, where Arvind created advanced Local Ancestry Inference methods. Additionally, as a Machine Learning Consultant at Ascendo AI, Arvind developed a self-supervised NLP algorithm for automating customer service responses. Arvind holds a Master of Science in Data Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
