Harsha Rao

Harsha Rao is an accomplished professional in product marketing and management with extensive experience in the biotechnology and diagnostics sectors. Currently serving as a Staff Product Marketing Manager for NGS Platforms at Illumina since September 2025, Harsha previously held roles at Bio-Rad Laboratories, including Senior Field Marketing Manager and Product Manager II, where successful leadership of two tradeshows and management of US Proteomics products were key achievements. At Visby Medical, Harsha launched three innovative CLIA-waived offerings, including a groundbreaking instrument-free COVID-19 RT-PCR test. With a background that includes consulting for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics and internship experience at Illumina, Harsha has a strong foundation in strategic product management and market analysis. Educational qualifications include a MiniMBA in Marketing and a Master’s in Biotechnology Management from the University of California, Irvine, alongside a Bachelor’s degree from SRM IST Chennai.
