Richard Wang

Richard Wang, PhD, currently serves as the Manager of Bioinformatics at Illumina, focusing on multiomic technologies in research programs related to rare diseases and oncology. Previously, Richard held various positions at UCLA, including Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and Sr Staff Research Scientist, where expertise in genomics facilitated significant research on muscular dystrophies. As a postdoctoral fellow, Richard utilized advanced genomic methods in collaboration with Dr. Stanley Nelson's lab. Richard's background also includes roles as a teaching fellow in bioinformatics and leadership as the National President of the Taiwanese American Citizens League. Richard earned a PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Genetics from UCLA, in addition to a BS in Neuroscience and Evolutionary Biology from the same institution.
