Steve Barnard

Steven Barnard serves as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Research & Product Development at Illumina, where employment began in January 1998. Prior roles at Illumina include Vice President of Technology Development and Vice President of Chemistry Development. Before joining Illumina, Steven Barnard was a Senior Scientist at Ciba Corning Diagnostics from 1996 to 1998 and held a similar position at Ciba-Geigy from June 1991 to June 1996. Steven Barnard earned a PhD in Chemistry from Tufts University, completed in 1991, and holds a degree from Connecticut College, obtained from 1978 to 1982.
