Karoliina Lindroos

Head of Responsible Investment at Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company

Karoliina Lindroos is the current head of responsible investment at Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company. Prior to this, they worked as a senior environmental and social adviser at Finnfund from January 2016 to August 2020. In this role, they developed internal processes on environmental and social sustainability, portfolio carbon footprint, SDGs, human rights and impact framework. Karoliina also provided strategic environmental and social advisory to investee company BoDs, engaged with stakeholders and participated in events as a speaker and panellist.

From March 2009 to December 2015, Lindroos worked as a senior consultant at Indufor. During this time, they conducted due diligence on environmental and social performance of companies, funds and financial institutions, with a focus on sustainable plantation forestry projects.

prior to that, Lindroos worked as a consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations from October 2005 to February 2009. Karoliina also has experience as a developer at KTI Kiinteistötieto Oy from May 2005 to September 2005, and as an associate researcher at Pellervo taloustutkimus PTT / Pellervo Economic Research from November 2003 to May 2004.

Karoliina Lindroos has an MBA from Aalto University Executive Education Ltd in 2019-2020. Her field of study was finance and change management. Karoliina also has a MSc from University of Helsinki in forest Economics with minors in Environmental Economics and Forest Ecology.
