Bart Vleminckx

Bart Vleminckx is a data and geoinformatician at the Instituut voor Landbouw-, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek since March 2022, focusing on data and software architecture. Previously, Bart served in research and development at MEET HET from December 2019 to March 2022, specializing in hardware and software solutions for environmental and geotechnical measurements and monitoring. Bart's earlier role as a scientist at the Royal Observatory of Belgium from February 2012 to December 2018 involved work on earthquakes, seismology, seismic hazard, and earthquake engineering, alongside scientific computing. Bart holds a Master of Science degree in Geology from Ghent University.

Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO) researches the entire food chain, from primary food production to food processing and also the social and economic aspects of agriculture and fisheries. ILVO is an independent governmental research institute, part of the Government of Flanders’ Agriculture and Fisheries Policy Area in Belgium.
