Nick Berkvens

Nick Berkvens is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in the agricultural and environmental sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at the Instituut voor Landbouw, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek (ILVO), Nick is involved in the development of innovative data repositories and AI pipelines for soil management projects. Previous roles include establishing an AI competence center for the Flemish Government at Atos, and serving as a Data Scientist at publiq vzw, where Nick analyzed leisure event data using advanced Google Cloud technologies. Additional experience includes predictive modeling at Volvo Financial Services and data consultancy at Hedera Insights. Nick holds a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences from Ghent University and has contributed to various research initiatives in biological control and pest management during a career that spans over two decades.
