Shannon Serio

Shannon Serio, MBA, CPA has extensive work experience in finance and audit roles. Shannon is currently the Senior VP of Finance Analytics at IMA Medical Group, where they are responsible for overseeing financial analysis. Prior to this role, Shannon worked at UnitedHealth Group for several years in various leadership positions. As the VICE PRESIDENT - RISK ADJUSTMENT | INTERNAL AUDIT, they spearheaded the application of analytics and clinical technology to drive growth and develop risk assessment strategies. Shannon also served as the ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT - INTERNAL AUDIT, overseeing the review of processes and implementation of data-driven systems to optimize revenue cycles. Additionally, Shannon was the INTERNAL AUDIT DIRECTOR, where they built and managed a team, conducted risk assessments, and identified weaknesses in internal control structures. Before joining UnitedHealth Group, Shannon worked at Trico Marine Services, Inc. as the CORPORATE CONTROLLER and FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER, where they led financial reporting and consolidation efforts. Throughout their career, Shannon has demonstrated strong financial management and leadership skills.

Shannon Serio has a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, with a minor in Management, from Southeastern Louisiana University, earned between 1995 and 2000. They also hold an Executive MBA in Healthcare Leadership from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, completed in 2022. In addition, Shannon is a Certified Public Accountant, having obtained their certification from the State Board of CPAs of Louisiana in 2001.
