Carolina Avelar

Carolina Avelar has been working in the field of AI since 2019. Carolina began that year as an AI Engineer for ImageBiopsy Lab, where they developed and assessed AI pipelines for producing Musculoskeletal (MSK) diagnostics on radiographs to provide radiologists and orthopedists with fast, quantitative and standardized reports. Carolina also conceived of data flow processes to ensure clean and workable datasets for supervised learning. Carolina also held an Intern | Erasmus + role at the same company. In 2019, they began a Research Trainee | MSc Thesis role at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. In 2018, they held a Research Trainee | Erasmus + student role at Nerf - empowered by imec, KU Leuven and VIB.

Carolina Avelar obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto between 2014 and 2019.
