Pam Omidyar

Board Member at Imaginable Futures

As a mother and philanthropist, Pam Omidyar is deeply committed to the flourishing of all children. Her work has supported increasing access to inclusive, equitable programs that serve the child’s social-emotional, cognitive and physical needs. From early-childhood programs for refugee children affected by trauma, violence, and displacement, to social-emotional curriculum for K-8 schoolchildren and adolescent well-being, Pam seeks to cultivate conditions where children and young adults can thrive.

Guided by their common belief that people are good and capable, and that societal well-being is accomplished through empowered individuals and adaptive, accountable institutions, Pam co-founded The Omidyar Group with Pierre Omidyar. The Omidyar Group creates, funds and fosters a diverse collection of independent organizations and initiatives that place bets on new ideas and creative strategies in five main areas: Accountability & Governance, Capital Investments & Technology, Courageous Leadership, Engaged & Resilient Societies, and Media. While each independent organization has the freedom to pursue what they believe has potential, they are united in a collaborative vision to improve the lives of people and societies.

Pam has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Tufts University, studied plant molecular genetics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and is in constant learning mode. She serves on other advisory boards and loves quilting and surfing with friends.
