Ashlee McKinnon

Senior Faculty, Dance at Imagination Stage

Ashlee McKinnon is an experienced leader in arts education and dance, currently serving as the Director of Education Development and Partnerships at the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative since January 2021 and as the Founder and Director of The Rehearsal Room since August 2020, where professional dance training is provided to aspiring artists. McKinnon has a long-standing role as a Choreographer and Teaching Artist at Imagination Stage, Inc. since July 2011, and previously held positions including Dance Department Chair at St. Andrew's Episcopal School, where orchestration of dance programming and curriculum design was emphasized. Other roles include Peer Group Coordinator at BEST Kids, Inc., Junior Staff Program Manager at Dance Place, High School Dance Teacher at Capital City PCS, and Middle School Dance Teacher at Sandy Spring Friends School. McKinnon's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Maryland, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, a Graduate Teaching Certificate in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
