Matt Bassett

Teaching Artist at Imagination Stage

Matt Bassett is a seasoned Creative Director and Voice Over Artist at Graphic Audio, LLC since October 2012, known for voicing diverse characters including superbeings and monsters. As Artistic Director at The Hub Theatre, Bassett has contributed as a Casting Associate and directed works such as the Staged Reading Series at the Kennedy Center Page-to-Stage Festival. An experienced Teaching Artist at Imagination Stage, Inc. and Montgomery College, Bassett instructs acting and play creation, while also serving as an Adjunct Professor. Freelancing as an audition and acting coach, Matt Bassett has performed at esteemed venues in the DC area and regionally. Furthermore, as Department Chair of Theatre at Metropolitan School of the Arts, Bassett has developed comprehensive curricula since 2013 and directed one-act plays. With an MFA in Acting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a BA in English from Tennessee Technological University, Bassett brings a strong educational background to a multifaceted career in the performing arts.

Imagination Stage is the largest and most respected multi-disciplinary theatre arts organization for young people in the Mid-Atlantic region. We offer a year-round season of professional shows (adult actors performing for families and classes), after-school programs and summer camps for ages 1-18, and arts-integration professional development training for teachers, students, schools, and families. All of our programs are informed by our core belief in making the arts inclusive and accessible to all children, regardless of their physical, cognitive, or financial status.
