Steve Kemp

Steve learned about the necessity of calibration in the 1970’s (magnets into deflection coils to straighten up geometry) and the joys of greyscale and convergence with a screwdriver in the back of high voltage CRT’s while looking at the resulting image in a mirror!

When he finished his education in the early 80’s Steve went straight into electrical retailing where he was in charge of his TV department. Even then each TV was meticulously calibrated before they went onto display and many customers had their sets calibrated in the evenings at their homes back then.

During his career, Steve has held various management roles for many electrical retailers both large and small.

He worked in music programming providing music for retail, restaurants and leisure businesses.

Spent 10 years designing night club sound systems as well as spending many years sound mixing for live bands.

Steve was honoured (and excited) to provide all the AV systems for the Star Wars 30th Anniversary Exhibition in London that ran for 10 months

Today Steve provides calibration services directly to private clients, he has done thousands of CRT, plasma, LCD and Oled TV’s as well as projector and home cinema sound systems.

Steve provides calibration and consultancy services to many retailers and calibration of production company grading suites.

Steve is HAA certified and ISF level lll certified and is now an ISF instructor for the UK.
