Alex Smith

Alex Smith is the current Global Product Management Lead at iManage. Prior to this, they served as the Innovation Manager at Reed Smith LLP from October 2016 to April 2019. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating innovation initiatives and culture at Reed Smith LLP through an Innovation Hub programme. This involved screening a plethora of legal tech start-ups and R&D teams of large legal services vendors, scans of technology trends in our sectors, and providing guidance and use cases with interesting technologies that aligned with the firm's ambitious strategy.

In 2018, Alex designed and ran service design sessions with clients around in-house delivery of legal services and how to leverage technology into in-house teams. Alex has also worked on introducing legal service design approaches into how Reed Smith understands and collaborates with clients to provide new services and digital methods of delivery of those services.

Looking ahead, Alex is excited to continue their work in helping Reed Smith LLP expand its innovation approach in 2018 working with the firm's Practice Innovation Team, Client Value Team and Client Technology Services as well as the lawyers at Reed Smith.

After completing a first-class honours degree in history at the University of Edinburgh, Alex Smith pursued a master's degree at the same institution.
