Jose Luis Tovar

Jose Luis Tovar has a diverse work experience history. Jose Luis started their career at Controles Empresariales where they held multiple roles, including Senior Manager in the Business Solutions and Solution Architect departments, Project Manager, and Manager of Customer Support. During their tenure, they successfully managed the implementation of multiple projects on time and within budget.

Jose Luis then worked at the Mexican Consulate as a Network Specialist Consultant, where they deployed new server and client technology and used root cause analysis methods to recommend actions based on analysis.

Next, they joined Loblaw Companies Limited as a Senior BSA, where they gathered business requirements for high-impact IT projects and facilitated workshops and requirements sessions with multiple stakeholders. Jose Luis also liaised with IT stakeholders to identify and resolve technical risks and issues.

Following that, they joined RBC as an IT Expert and Consultant, where they managed and coordinated the remediation of apps that were not compatible with Windows 7. Jose Luis also coordinated the deployment of Windows 7 across countries where RBC has a presence.

Most recently, they have been working at IMAX as a Sr. Director, overseeing the execution and governance of the company's annual portfolio lifecycle. Jose Luis manages the IT CAPEX planning and execution and also supports the OPEX planning and execution. Previously at IMAX, they held the role of Director, Business Applications and Integrations, where they led a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing enterprise business applications. Jose Luis successfully deployed new critical applications and implemented a Change Advisory Board.

Jose Luis Tovar's education history includes a degree in Systems Engineering and Information Technology from Universidad INCCA de Colombia, which they earned from 1991 to 1997. Jose Luis also obtained a Sales and Marketing specialist degree from Universidad Autonoma de Manizales in 1998-1999. In 2009-2010, they studied Information Systems and Business Analysis at HEC Montréal. Jose Luis Tovar also completed an ELT Program at PMC in 2010. Jose Luis has an additional certification as a Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance.
