Carlos Ballester Lafuente has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Carlos is currently working at IMD as the Head of IT Innovation, where they are responsible for developing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for innovation initiatives within the organization. Prior to this, Carlos worked as a Digital Product Manager at IMD, managing a complex portfolio of business and IT projects and products.

Before joining IMD, Carlos was a Co-Founder of MobileThinking SARL, a company specializing in mobile applications and innovative solutions. Carlos managed the full product lifecycle and portfolio of the company.

Carlos also worked as a Technical Project Manager at the Center for Digital Trust (C4DT) EPFL, where they were responsible for managing multidisciplinary innovation projects between academia and industry in the areas of IT security, privacy, and digital trust.

Prior to that, Carlos served as a European Project Manager at the University of Geneva, where they managed several European framework projects and developed applications in Java and Android.

Carlos started their career as an IT Security Auditor at S2 Grupo, conducting automated and manual penetration testing and risk assessments. Carlos also gained experience as a System Administrator and Programmer at Universitat Politècnica de València, working with C#,.NET, and MySQL.

Additionally, Carlos worked as a Freelance Java Programmer early in their career.

Carlos Ballester Lafuente has an extensive education history. Carlos earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Management Information Systems and Services from the University of Geneva, where they studied from 2010 to 2015. Prior to that, they pursued two Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Security and Mobile Computing, one from Aalto University (2008-2010) and another from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2008-2010). Carlos also holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Computer Science from Universitat Politècnica de València (2001-2007). In addition to their academic achievements, Carlos has obtained several certifications, including a Service Micro-Certification: Integration Hub, ServiceNow Fundamentals, ServiceNow Micro-Certification: Flow Designer, and Professional Scrum Product Owner™ I (PSPO I).
