Cecilia Barrera

Cecilia Barrera has a robust background in chemical engineering and research, holding a PhD from the University of Strathclyde, where contributions included developing molecular models and educating Master’s students. Currently employed as a researcher at imec, focusing on data science for drug discovery, Cecilia previously served in various roles, such as a research associate, where a machine learning model was developed to enhance reactor design for GlaxoSmithKline. Early career experiences included teaching high school chemistry, working as a front office assistant at Computek College, and completing multiple internships in quality control and water analysis. Cecilia's educational foundation is strengthened by an engineering degree from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional.
