Filip Merckx has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Filip served as the CFO at imec starting from September 2014. From January 2015 to July 2017, they were a Board Member at Uest, the company behind Embracelet. Prior to that, they worked at Telenet in various positions, including VP Product Marketing, VP Finance, Group Controller & Treasury, and Director Financial Control. Before joining Telenet, Filip was the CFO at Tibotec from August 1999 to November 2001. Filip also has experience at BNP Paribas Fortis, where they served as Sr. Investment Manager Fortis Private Equity (VIV), Director Corporate Banking Mechelen, and Branch Manager.
Filip Merckx completed their education with a Master's degree in Engineer from KU Leuven in 1989. Later, in 1991-1992, they pursued a Master's degree in Finance, General from the same university. In 2007, they attended Columbia University for an Executieve Program in CSEP. In 2010-2011, Filip Merckx enrolled in the Effective Leadership Program at Vlerick Business School.
