Dr. Ing. Joachim Ninke

Vice President Industrial Projects at Imerys

Dr. Ing. Joachim Ninke has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Dr. Ing. Joachim currently holds the position of Vice President Industrial Projects at Imerys, starting in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Glatfelter as the Head of Group Engineering from 2016 to 2022.

Before joining Glatfelter, Dr. Ninke held the role of VP - Head of Global Engineering | Projects | Maintenance at Givaudan from 2013 to 2016. During their time there, they successfully managed a 220 M$ CAPEX portfolio for capacity expansion in Europe, China, and Singapore. Dr. Ing. Joachim also implemented strategies to reduce equipment costs, improve equipment availability, and develop next-generation process technology.

From 2009 to 2013, Dr. Ninke served as the Director Manufacturing Technology Services EMEA at Wärtsilä. Dr. Ing. Joachim was responsible for establishing an Engineering Service Centre and developing cutting-edge manufacturing technology. Dr. Ing. Joachim also played a key role in the localization efforts of equipment and components in China, Korea, and Japan.

Dr. Ninke's earlier experience includes roles at ThyssenKrupp and DaimlerChrysler. At ThyssenKrupp, they worked as a Senior Project Manager in both manufacturing engineering and global factory operations. At DaimlerChrysler, they served as a Project Manager and Chief Engineer in diesel engine assembly and testing.

Dr. Ing. Joachim Ninke completed their education as follows:

- From 1997 to 2001, they attended Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, where they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Engineering/Industrial Management.

- In 2002, they started their doctoral studies at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, specializing in Manufacturing Engineering & Automation. Dr. Ing. Joachim completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in this field in 2006.

- Concurrently with their doctoral studies, from 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Management Consulting from Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society.

- In 1995, they obtained their High School Diploma from FOS bad Tölz.

- Dr. Ing. Joachim also holds an Industry Mechanic | Technician degree from Staatl. Berufsschule Miesbach, which they earned from 1987 to 1990.

- In 1995, they attended Technikerschule München and completed a Master of Engineering - MEng degree in Heavy/Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technologies.
