Davide Merulla

Davide Merulla has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Davide started their career at SmartDetection as a Project Leader, where they coordinated product development, managed intellectual property, assessed the market, and secured funding. During their time there, they achieved significant milestones such as producing a working prototype, securing IP rights, identifying a potential buyer, and raising 100,000 CHF.

Davide then moved on to Nanolive SA as an Application Specialist, where they focused on online sales, training and recruiting distributors, and providing global distributor support. Davide successfully created a new marketing channel through the production of Nanolive webinar series and trained six distributors while recruiting one. Additionally, they set up an online training program.

Following that, Davide joined Socrat SA as a Product Manager, where they gained experience in managing product development and overseeing the company's portfolio.

Davide then transitioned to Ambrosus Ecosystem as an Innovation Manager, specializing in blockchain technology. At Ambrosus, they led scientific projects, developed biosensing expertise, and managed research portfolios with academic institutions. Davide also supported marketing and business development activities, established partnerships with external technology providers, and represented the company to the external community. Notably, they led the company's involvement in a traceability project within the EIT food consortium.

After Ambrosus, Davide worked at ZIMT as an Innovation Manager and Solutions Architect. In this role, they contributed to innovation management and provided solutions architecture expertise.

Currently, Davide holds a position in Immagina Biotechnology S.r.l. as a Business Development professional.

Davide Merulla pursued their education in a chronological order, starting from the year 2000. Davide completed their Master's Degree in Biotechnology with a specialization in industrialization at the University of Bologna from 2000 to 2007. Following that, from 2009 to 2014, they enrolled in the University of Lausanne - UNIL where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Molecular Biology. In 2013, they attended the Venture Lab / CTI Business Concept, and in 2014, they took a business creation course at CTI.
