Amber Hooks has held a variety of roles in the accounting and loss prevention industries since 2003. Her career began as an Executive Assistant at the Literacy Council of Central Alabama in 2003. Amber then moved to Macy's in 2004, where they held the role of Senior Loss Prevention Detective until 2007. From 2007 to 2008, they were an Area Loss Prevention Specialist at Stein Mart. Amber then moved to Belk, where they held the role of Loss Prevention Manager until 2012. Amber then moved to Macy's again, where they held the role of Loss Prevention Manager until 2014. From 2014 to 2015, they held several roles at Hoar Construction, including Payroll and Accounting Administrator, Payroll Accountant, Staff Accountant, and Job Cost Accountant. In 2015, they co-founded the blog Happenin's in the 'Ham, where they served as editor and writer. Amber Hooks is currently an Accounting Manager at Immediate, a role they have held since 2022.

Amber Hooks graduated from Ben C Rain High School with a High School Diploma. Amber then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, majoring in Criminal Justice/Accounting. In November 2021, they obtained a certification in Excel Essential Training (Office 365/Microsoft 365) from LinkedIn.
