Charles Addy McGee II is an educator, administrator, and passionate advocate. He fled the Liberian civil crisis in September, 1991 while serving as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Police and was later granted political asylum. He holds a M.Ed. Educational Administration, B.A. in Secondary Education, B.Sc. in Political Science, and a Graduate Fellows of Portland State University Institute of Nonprofit Management Graduate. Charles and his family relocated to Portland, Oregon.
Charles is retired and works seasonally as Lead Community Account Manager at United Way of the Columbia-Willamette. He currently serves as a Senior Warden at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church Vestry, Chair of IRCO Africa House Advisory Council, a Member of Grace Institute Board of Directors; and previously served in the following capacities: Chair of the Board of Directors of Oregon Outreach, Chair of the Refugee Immigrant Consortium of OR & SW Washington, Member of Portland Water Bureau Budget Advisory Committee, Portland Capital Improvement Committee and Member of the Diocesan Council of Oregon among others.

The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) is a non-profit organization established in 1974 to serve immigrants and refugees in Portland, Oregon. Since its founding, IRCO has served more than 55,000 people through provision of programs and services that meet needs related to training and employment, health and aging, English language learning, naturalization and adjustment, community development, early childhood, parenting and youth development, education and interpretation and translation.
