Darrell Gerohn Baksh currently serves as a Registry/Case Management Officer with the Refugee Protection Division at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada since June 2023. Prior experience includes roles at Scarborough Health Network as a Senior Bed Allocation Clerk and Registration Clerk, as well as positions at The Hospital for Sick Children as a Patient Information/Registration Clerk. Darrell has significant academic experience as a Graduate Assistant and Sessional Instructional Assistant at Ryerson University and the University of Toronto Mississauga, teaching and grading various courses in Caribbean Studies and Women & Gender Studies. Earlier roles involved research assistance for a US-based author and administrative support at the University of the West Indies. Customer service experience was gained at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, managing client inquiries and confidential information. Darrell holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of the West Indies, specializing in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory.
