WEI SHEN

Associate Director, Vaccine Discovery of Research and Development at Immunomic Therapeutics

Wei Shen has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical research. Starting in 1994, they worked as a Lecturer at Nantong Medical College, where they taught Biochemistry and conducted research on a neuronal-specific protein.

In 2004, they joined the Tasly Biotech-Pharm R&D Center as a Team Leader/Project Manager, leading a team of biologists in developing a new biopharmaceutical drug through genetic engineering methods. WEI also played a key role in designing clinical trials for pro-UK.

From 2006 to 2008, Wei Shen worked as a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)/NIH. During this time, they optimized gene expression and successfully expressed recombinant proteins in Pichia. WEI also investigated the mechanism of substrate specificity in ppGaNTases.

Starting in 2008, Wei Shen joined the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Research Fellow. Their work focused on the function of Th17 cytokines and their role in infectious diseases. WEI also studied T cell protective function on the skin barrier against bacterial invasion.

Most recently, Wei Shen has been working at Immunomic Therapeutics, Inc. First as a Scientist II, then as a Senior Scientist, and currently as the Associate Director of Vaccine Discovery in Research and Development. Their work at Immunomic Therapeutics involves leading research efforts in vaccine discovery and development.

Overall, Wei Shen's work experience spans various research positions within academic institutions and biotech companies, showcasing their expertise in molecular biology, protein expression, and vaccine development.

Wei Shen's education history begins in 1989 when they enrolled in the Department of Clinical Medicine at Nantong Medical College. They completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in this field of study in 1994.

After their undergraduate studies, Wei Shen pursued a Master's degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the Department of Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, Tianjin Medical University from 1997 to 2000.

Building on their Master's degree, Wei Shen enrolled at Peking Union Medical College from 2000 to 2004 to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Based on the available information, it is unclear when they obtained their Ph.D. certification and the institution from which it was obtained.
