Christopher Alfonso

Christopher Alfonso has extensive work experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic sectors. Christopher currently holds the position of Senior Director of Business Development at ImmunoScape, a role they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they were the Director of Business Development at ImmunoScape from September 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining ImmunoScape, Christopher worked at Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Manager of Scientific Affairs from February 2019 to September 2020. Their responsibilities included KOL engagement, alliance development, hypothesis generation, program management, and value-driver generation for business development.

From July 2017 to December 2018, Christopher worked at NantKwest, where they held the position of Scientific Affairs and Product Development. In this role, they were involved in strategic planning, budgeting, CMC tech transfer for CAR-NK cell therapy development, and program management for IND-enabling projects.

Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant in the biotech and academia field from November 2016 to July 2017.

From November 2013 to October 2016, Christopher worked at BD Biosciences as a Scientific Liaison in Scientific Affairs. Their responsibilities included building and leading industry-academic alliances, integrating industry technologies into academia, and successful partnering for external funding opportunities.

Christopher began their career as a Scientist at BD Biosciences in October 2005 and progressed to the role of Senior Scientist in February 2007, before transitioning to the role of Scientific Liaison.

Christopher also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Scripps Research Institute from November 2000 to September 2005, where they focused on immunomodulation and pharmacology.

Prior to that, Christopher worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Johnson & Johnson from September 1997 to November 2000, where they were involved in target discovery, reagent generation, assay development, and external collaboration.

Christopher Alfonso has a strong education background in the field of science and business. Christopher holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Immunology from Newcastle University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from the same university. Alongside their scientific education, Christopher also pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of San Diego. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained certifications in various specialized fields, including Good Clinical Practices from NIDA CTN and Specialist in Cytometry from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Christopher has also completed coursework in Clinical Trials Design and Management and Intellectual Property from UC San Diego Extension.
