Michael Scott

Michael Scott has over 25 years of experience in information security, privacy, and compliance. Michael is currently the CISO at Immuta. Prior to joining Immuta, they were the Chief Privacy and Security Officer at Spirion from December 2019 to October 2020. At Spirion, they led information technology, security, privacy functions, and compliance initiatives, including SOC2 Type II, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, HITRUST, and ISO2700x to achieve business success. Michael assisted in developing the DevSecOps program and delivering scalable security by utilizing Kubernetes clusters and Microsoft Azure. Executed CCPA and other privacy requirements, remediation, and cures to achieve and maintain compliance.

Before joining Spirion, Michael was the Digital Security Services Leader at NCR Corporation from March 2017 to April 2018. In this role, they were responsible for providing digital security expertise and services to NCR's customers and sales teams.

From April 2008 to December 2016, Michael was the Chief Information Security Officer at The Wendy's Company. In this role, they were responsible for leading the company's information security program and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

From April 2018 to October 2019, Michael was the Executive Director of Optiv Inc's Office of the CISO (oCISO). In this role, they were responsible for providing strategic direction for Optiv's information security program and overseeing all aspects of the program.

Prior to joining Optiv, Michael was the Information Security Manager at Witness Systems Inc (now Verint) from November 2007 to February 2008. In this role, they were responsible for leading the company's information security program and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Michael Scott has an Associates's degree in Information Security and Risk Analysis from Penn State University.
