Dr. Jannic Horne

Dr. Jannic Horne's work experience includes roles at ImpactNexus, Borderstep Institute for Innovation and Sustainability, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Technische Universität Berlin, EIT Digital, The Boston Consulting Group, DIW Berlin, German Institute for International and Security Affairs, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

At ImpactNexus, Dr. Horne is a Co-Founder and currently serves as the CFO/COO. Previously, they were the Co-Founder and CEO.

During their time at Borderstep Institute for Innovation and Sustainability, they worked as a Venturing Entrepreneur and Senior Researcher, leading the development of ImpactNexus and supporting related activities of the institute.

At Boston Consulting Group (BCG), they held various roles, including Consultant and Recruiting support. Dr. Jannic worked on a range of topics, primarily in renewable energy and non-profit sectors, but also gained experience in healthcare, telecommunications, and construction industries.

Their work as a Doctoral Student at Technische Universität Berlin involved researching sustainable innovation and scalability. Dr. Jannic developed a Lean Impact Measurement approach to measure and forecast the social, ecological, and economic success of startups and new business models.

Additionally, they worked as an Entrepreneurship Lecturer at the EIT Digital Summer School, a Visiting Associate at The Boston Consulting Group, and as an intern at DIW Berlin, German Institute for International and Security Affairs, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

Dr. Jannic Horne earned their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geography & Environmental Sciences from The University of Freiburg from 2008 to 2012. Dr. Jannic then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Public Policy at the Hertie School from 2012 to 2014. During their time at Hertie School, they also participated in an exchange semester at UCLA, where they studied Urban Planning from 2013 to 2014. Following their master's degree, Dr. Horne attended Technische Universität Berlin, where they obtained a Doktor (Ph.D.) in Economics and Management from 2017 to 2019.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Horne has acquired several certifications. In August 2020, they completed the "Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp" from Udemy. Dr. Jannic also obtained certifications in "PYTHON FOR DATA SCIENCE: INTERMEDIATE" and "PYTHON FOR DATA SCIENCE: FUNDAMENTALS" from Dataquest.io in February 2020 and January 2020, respectively. In December 2019, Dr. Horne completed the "NLP - Natural Language Processing with Python" course from Udemy. Furthermore, in March 2019, they obtained the "Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I)" certification from Scrum.org.
