Steven Chen

Dr. Steven Chen, MD, MBA has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical field. Steven is currently the Chief Medical Officer at ImpediMed. Prior to that, they owned a medical corporation where they served as an Owner and Attending Surgeon specializing in Surgical Oncology, with a particular focus on breast cancer, melanoma, and endocrine diseases. Steven also held the positions of Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Avelas Biosciences, where they developed and managed clinical trials programs and maintained relationships with investigators, research organizations, and regulatory agencies. Dr. Chen has also served as the President of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Earlier in their career, they held positions at City of Hope and the University of California: Davis as an Associate Professor and Chief of Breast Surgery, and as a Surgical Oncology Fellow at the John Wayne Cancer Institute. Steven began their medical education at the University of Michigan, where they completed their General Surgery Residency.

Dr. Steven Chen has an MBA degree in Corporate Strategy and Operations Analysis from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, obtained between 2001 and 2003. Prior to that, they earned their MD degree from the University of Michigan Medical School between 1994 and 1998. Dr. Chen completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan from 1991 to 1994, where they received a BA in Economics and Biomedical Sciences. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Surgical Oncology Fellowship from the Society of Surgical Oncology in 2007 and General Surgery Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery in 2006.
